Physical Therapist - Per Diem
Summary
The Physical Therapist is responsible for designing and implementing individualized treatment programs aimed at maximizing patients’ functional independence and quality of life. This role involves evaluating the effectiveness of care plans and adjusting interventions as needed to achieve optimal outcomes. The therapist specializes in assessing and treating patients experiencing cancer-related disabilities, providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Educating patients and caregivers to prepare them for therapy sessions and safe discharge
- Thoroughly documenting all treatments, progress, and communications with interdisciplinary healthcare team members
- Participating in ongoing educational programs to maintain clinical expertise
- Providing supervision and guidance to physical therapy clinical interns and physical therapy assistants
Qualifications
- Licenses and Certifications: License to practice as a Physical Therapist or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist in the State of New York
- Education and Experience: Doctorate degree from an approved physical therapy program; or Master’s degree from an approved physical therapy program and the equivalent of one (1) year of full time experience in physical therapy or a related field; or Bachelor’s degree from an approved physical therapy program and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience in physical therapy or a related field
- Note: As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain and maintain New York State licensure as a Physical Therapist within six (6) months of their appointment to this title.
