Physical Therapist - Per Diem

About the Role

We are seeking a per diem Physical Therapist for our Weymouth location to join our inter-disciplinary team and provide high-quality rehabilitation for pediatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive physical therapy assessments in alignment with department standards and guidelines for pediatric patients.
• Review patient medical history/records and select, administer, and interpret standardized and non-standardized tests and measurements to assess patients’ functional status related to cardiopulmonary, developmental, musculoskeletal, neurological, and sensorimotor function.
• Integrate knowledge into clinical decisions and recommendations.
• Develop and implement individualized patient treatment programs.
• Establish treatment goals and administer appropriate physical therapy procedures and modalities.
• Create discharge plans and home treatment programs, and provide education to patients and families.
• Recommend orthotics, adaptive/assistive equipment, and technology for patients with complex, rare, or multiple dysfunctions.
• Serve as a liaison with equipment designers and vendors regarding equipment specifications and patient needs.
• Train patients, families, and caretakers in the use/operation of prescribed orthotics/equipment, monitor and evaluate effectiveness, and initiate modifications as needed.
• Record assessments, diagnoses, and treatment in patient medical records according to established documentation standards.
• Prepare reports, correspondence, referrals, and other materials for schools, providers, payers, and others as needed.
• Assign standardized billing codes and corresponding charges required for reimbursement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy.
• Minimum one to two years of previous PT experience; pediatric hospital-based experience preferred.
• Physical Therapist licensure in the state of Massachusetts.
• Ability and availability to train and orient during weekdays.

Pay

The posted pay range reflects Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this role at the time of posting. Any base pay offer depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and other job-related factors.
