About the Role
A Physical Therapist - Pelvic Health provides evaluation, treatment, and patient management within the Rehabilitation Services Department, focusing on restoring function and preventing disability.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and document patient progress.
- Supervise physical therapist assistants and students, ensuring quality of care and adherence to guidelines.
- Coordinate with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes.
- Assist in scheduling, departmental projects, and developing new physical therapy programs for patients and community needs.
- Supervise and orient physical therapist aides, volunteers, and students.
- Maintain confidentiality, HIPAA compliance, and uphold professional standards.
- Identify continuing education opportunities and stay current with post-op protocols, especially in joint replacements and spine surgeries.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program.
- Current Minnesota physical therapist license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience in Pelvic Health preferred.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Thorough knowledge of physical therapy principles, practices, and post-operative protocols.
- Knowledge of orthopedic procedures, post-op precautions, and discharge planning.
- Commitment to ongoing education and adherence to regulatory guidelines.
