Responsibilities

  • Evaluates the effectiveness of treatment plans and modifies interventions as needed.
  • Treats patients with cancer-related disabilities, delivering specialized, patient-centered care.
  • Provides education and instruction to patients and caregivers to support therapy participation and safe discharge planning.
  • Documents all interventions and communications with healthcare professionals in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participates in ongoing educational and professional development programs.
  • May supervise physical therapy clinical interns and physical therapy assistants as required.

Qualifications

  • Licenses and Certifications: License to practice as a Physical Therapist or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist in the State of New York.
  • Education and Experience: Doctorate degree from an approved physical therapy program; or Master’s degree from an approved physical therapy program and the equivalent of one (1) year of full time experience in physical therapy or a related field; or Bachelor’s degree from an approved physical therapy program and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience in physical therapy or a related field.
  • Note: As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain and maintain New York State licensure as a Physical Therapist within six (6) months of their appointment to this title.
  • Experience: Experience in outpatient setting.
  • Specialized Training: Certified in and/or willing to be trained in Pelvic Floor Therapy.
  • Skills: Strong written/communication skills and strong time management skills.

Starting Hourly Rate

The starting hourly rate is $38.77. The actual offer may vary based on qualifications, skills, and experience.
