Physical Therapist - Pediatrics, PRN
About the role
As a Physical Therapist, you will create a healing atmosphere that enhances the Cleveland Clinic treatment experience. You will assist in providing highly specialized treatment for bones, joints, muscles and tendons specifically designed for the unique needs and health backgrounds of your patients. In many cases, these patients are dealing with pain, so remaining sensitive and compassionate is important in helping them regain their health. Ultimately, your efforts can provide the initial drive and support they need to continue forward in their healing journey.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and conduct prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.
- Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients’ conditions.
- Establish, revise and evaluate plans of care while involving the patient and/or their family.
- Perform therapy interventions.
- Supervise activities of Physical Therapy Assistants, students and other caregivers.
Requirements
- Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or Certificate, Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT), Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
- Preferred qualifications: Experience in a clinical area, Pediatrics experience.
Qualifications
- Ability to walk and climb stairs without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load in order to support patient from falling.
- Ability to meet physical demands characterized at the heavy level defined by 1993 Leonard Matheson and Ministry of Labor.
- Ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patient's arm and leg during therapeutic treatment program.
- Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient pulse.
- Visual acuity to observe patient's gross and fine motor movements in order to analyze these movements and to read all patient monitors.
- Ability to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families.
- Ability to hear at a conversational level to understand patient's description of symptoms and response to treatment.
Skills
- Ability to remain sensitive and compassionate in assisting patients dealing with pain.
- Knowledge of physical therapy techniques and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay
Minimum hourly: $50.00 Maximum hourly: $50.00 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.). The pay range does not include the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental and vision benefits, retirement savings account contributions, etc.).
Schedule
A caregiver in this position will work varying shifts on 8 or 10-hr days with a 7:00am or 8:00am start time.
