About the role

A Physical Therapist will interpret results of initial evaluations, determine appropriate patient goals, and develop a treatment plan. They will modify the treatment plan as necessary and utilize appropriate treatment techniques. Responsibilities also include participating in teaching opportunities or clinical education of students, as well as inter-disciplinary program planning.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret results of initial evaluation and determine appropriate patient goals
  • Develop and modify treatment plans as needed
  • Utilize appropriate treatment techniques
  • Participate in teaching opportunities or clinical education of students
  • Engage in inter-disciplinary program planning
  • Establish and maintain a safe environment conducive to effective team functioning, positive patient outcomes, and personal safety
  • Treat a split caseload of pediatric and adult orthopedics
  • Treatment of pediatric patients birth-18 with various developmental, neurological, congenital, and orthopedic conditions
  • Treatment of adult patients with general orthopedics and post-op cases

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited program is required
  • Valid Indiana Physical Therapy license or temporary permit
  • Experience in Pediatric and Adult Outpatient Orthopedic Physical Therapy
  • Knowledgeable in anatomy/physiology, evaluation and therapy, theoretical concepts and techniques, current materials and technological advances, and new professional trends
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff, peers, patients, families, physicians, and all internal/external customers
  • Ability to lift/transfer patients and treatment supply items without restriction

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of the behaviors, developmental needs, physical needs, emotional needs, and comfort of the child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient

Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in computer software and medical terminology
