Physical Therapist- Outpatient Per Diem
Position Summary
Plans and implements specific treatment programs for individual and grouped patients according to the principles of the American Physical Therapy Association.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare treatment team.
- Supervises physical therapy assistants, rehabilitation aides, and volunteers.
- Provides an educational in-service to the staff annually as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Provides holiday coverage in acute care setting.
- Assume the role of clinical instructor to physical therapy students as assigned by the Rehab Director or CCCE.
Special Skills Or Educational Requirements
- NYS Physical Therapy License and current registration, or eligible.
- Current CPR/BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
- PREFERRED: Experience and/or interest in working with patients with Parkinson's disease, balance/vestibular diagnoses, and other neurologic diagnoses.
- This individual may participate in and play a lead role on an allied healthcare inter-professional care team specific for Parkinson's disease.
- Specialty certification or interest in the areas of Balance/Vestibular Rehab, Lymphedema, or Women's Health/Pelvic Floor preferred.
Physical Demands
Occasional heavy lifting when providing patient care. Attention to detail.
