About the role
St Mary Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health Mid Atlantic, is looking for a full-time Physical Therapist to join our outpatient team. This position involves 8-hour days with 2 evening shifts per week, totaling 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Provide supervision for Physical Therapy Assistants, PMR technicians, students, and volunteers as required.
- Maintain a safe and orderly working environment for patients and staff.
- Adhere to the code of ethics of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Practice Act of the Commonwealth of PA.
- Develop a comprehensive plan of care and provide treatment using appropriate and effective techniques to achieve established goals, with an emphasis on functional status.
- Assume accountability for managing the delivery of patient care, interpreting and utilizing clinical data in the treatment plan.
- Prioritize and organize work assignments, adjusting priorities based on changing situations.
- Consistently assess and modify approach, communication, and care to reflect the needs of patients based on age, cultural diversity, and developmental level.
- Act as a patient advocate and uphold patients’ rights.
- Participate in program development activities as assigned and under the direction of the Lead/Manager.
- Serve as a Clinical Instructor when necessary.
- Confer with physicians and team members regarding changes in the treatment plan as needed.
- Collaborate with patients and significant others when establishing goals and treatment plans.
- Participate in the orientation and training of other healthcare team members.
- Incorporate education into daily patient activities and individualize educational plans based on patient needs.
- Participate in continuing education to stay abreast of new research and fulfill credentialing requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current State PT license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Acute care experience preferred.
Schedule
8-hour days with 2 evening shifts per week, 40 hours per week.
