Physical Therapist - Outpatient
About the role
Provides therapeutic patient care to ensure positive patient outcomes. Educates patients, significant others, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of the patient care plan. Interacts with other departments and members of the medical team to develop and implement interdisciplinary patient care plans.
Responsibilities
- Adheres to hospital and department policies and procedures.
- Contributes to the overall quality of services by maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring patient evaluations and treatments are comprehensive and functional.
- Assumes responsibility for keeping informed about changes in policies and procedures.
- Maintains accurate documentation of patient evaluations, progress notes, and discharge notes.
- Ensures quality patient outcomes by recommending next level of care and recognizing and responding to changes in the patient's physiologic state.
- Supervises support staff and provides direction and feedback.
- Maintains productivity standards and adjusts individual schedules to meet the needs of the patient and department.
- Participates in process management to optimize quality and efficiency of services and identifies quality and operational opportunities.
- Shares clinical expertise with other therapists, student affiliates, and other health care professionals and conducts in-service training programs.
- Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, staff, and all external customers and responds to questions by staff.
- Interacts with other departments and members of the medical team to develop and implement interdisciplinary patient care plans.
- Interprets age/developmentally specific responses to treatment/activity accurately and maintains competence related to age/developmentally specific patient care.
Requirements
- B.S., M.S., or D.P.T degree from accredited physical therapy school.
- Previous hospital experience preferred.
- Current licensure in the state of applicable state and CPR certification in Basic Life Support, Level C.

Compensation includes base compensation listed within the listed pay range based on factors such as qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and/or training.
