Physical Therapist- (OP)- PT, Days

About the role

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral and standards of treatment, you will perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. The role includes direct supervision of patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians, and general supervision of physical therapist assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Duties and responsibilities are performed in a manner consistent with Mercy’s mission, values, and service standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments of adult and geriatric patients
• Develop and implement comprehensive, individualized treatment programs
• Provide direct supervision to patients
• Provide indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians
• Supervise physical therapist assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master of Science in Physical Therapy, or Doctorate of Physical Therapy
• Current or temporary license of Physical Therapy in the state of practice
• BLS certification (must be current before assigned to care for patients independently)

Preferred Qualifications

• Six months to one year of experience as a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist
• Experience caring for adult and geriatric patients

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
• Prolonged standing and walking during each shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties

Schedule

Day Shift with autonomy—8, 10, and 12-hour shifts available.
