Overview
Provides direct and indirect patient care to assist in the rehabilitation and restoration of normal body function after illness and/or injury.
Responsibilities
- Implements treatment programs according to the plan of care
- Administers modalities
- Trains patients in T.E., transfers, and gait
- Supervises PT Assistants and PT Aides
- Exels in professional growth and development
- Willingness to work in multiple venues and adjust work schedule to meet department mission
- Provides community education in conjunction with hospital education programs
- Ability to correctly identify problems and develop a treatment plan at conclusion of the initial evaluation
- Emphasizes and achieves continuity of care through effective documentation and verbal communication
- Adequate computer skills to achieve accurate billing and documentation
- Professional demeanor and appearance
- Ability to effectively and safely transfer patients with significant physical and/or mental impairment
- Ability to respond to Specific Task Requests
- Demonstrates Clinical Competence
Qualifications
- Able to communicate effectively, pleasantly, cooperatively, and discretely with patients, physicians, team members, and the general public
- Able to work under pressure and maintain patient confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills and ability to relate well with people of diverse backgrounds, training and experience
- Demonstration of creativity, initiative and problem solving
- Minimum required: Bachelor's
- Preferred/desired: Master's degree or doctorate
