Physical Therapist II, Stroke (CVA) Unit

New employees eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with rotating Saturdays and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced physical therapy services through patient evaluation, goal determination, and treatment-plan development.
• Lead or participate in professional development and performance-improvement activities.
• Identify, resolve, and escalate clinical and operational issues; assist in equipment selection and maintenance.
• Perform patient assessments and create individualized treatment plans to improve movement, manage pain, and prevent injury.
• Develop and update long- and short-term treatment objectives; modify programs as needed.
• Document evaluations, re-evaluations, and care in medical records according to departmental standards.
• Communicate evaluation results and treatment plans to patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams; refer for further evaluation as needed.
• Provide therapy education and counseling to individuals.
• Mentor and train clinical team members and students based on departmental needs.
• Facilitate interdisciplinary, safe, patient-centered care and deliver excellent customer service.
• Participate in or lead performance-improvement activities and other initiatives.
• Assist in the selection, care, and maintenance of departmental diagnostic and treatment equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Engage in professional development and advancement activities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (required). Bachelor’s or Master’s degree accepted if licensed prior to 2016 (per previous licensing requirements).
• 1 year of licensed Physical Therapist experience.
• Licensed Physical Therapist in the state of Maryland.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
