About the role
The Physical Therapist II evaluates patients’ conditions, develops personalized treatment plans, and implements therapeutic interventions to optimize functional abilities. This position treats all patients effectively and efficiently in their clinical practice setting, completing all physical therapy job functions with minimal guidance. The role requires independent practice in the primary setting and may involve mentoring or guidance in complex situations. This therapist initiates communication among interdisciplinary team members, treats familiar patients with confidence, and advocates for patients and the team.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates and treats all diagnoses, including more complex patients.
- Conducts thorough evaluations of patients' physical abilities, medical history, and functional limitations to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Administers therapeutic exercises and other physical therapy interventions to improve patients' strength, flexibility, and range of motion.
- Educates patients and their families on treatment plans, home exercises, and self-management techniques to improve recovery outcomes.
- Collaborates with others in developing and implementing discharge plans and recommendations for continued care.
- Monitors and documents patients' progress, treatment outcomes, and responses to interventions to adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Collaborates with teams from different departments to ensure coordinated patient care and holistic treatment outcomes.
- Assists with orientation and training of new staff, demonstrating an ongoing commitment to improving the performance and skills of co-workers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy (required).
- 2 years of experience (required).
- North Carolina license by the NCPT Board of Physical Therapy Examiners (required).
- BLS (CPR) certification from the American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider (required).
