Physical Therapist - Full Time - Internal Travel Program
About the Role
Join Symbria’s Internal Travel Team as a Physical Therapist (PT) and impact the lives of the older adult population. This full-time travel position offers the benefits of full-time employment, including health insurance, PTO, and continuing education, while providing travel assignments across 10 states and various settings. A monthly travel stipend is offered in addition to a competitive salary.
Symbria operates in the following states: PA, MA, CT, IL, IN, OH, MO, and WI.
Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate physician’s referral and patient’s medical record to determine the required Physical Therapy program.
- Evaluate each patient’s current level of functioning using approved evaluation techniques, tests, and observations, and prepare written treatment programs based on evaluations.
- Administer a prescribed Physical Therapy program to restore and maintain maximum function and prevent disability using a range of therapeutic modalities.
- Coordinate physical therapy services with Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, and the Nursing department.
- Maintain appropriate documentation in the patient chart, and re-evaluate patient progress to revise treatment programs as necessary.
- Communicate Physical Therapy philosophy, treatment approaches, and goals to patients, their families, and other members of the rehabilitation team.
- Supervise Symbria Rehab Physical Therapy Assistants, monitor productivity, and assess staffing needs within the community.
- Complete all required clinical and billing documentation as indicated and submit in a timely manner.
- Adhere to Symbria Rehab’s mission, Code of Conduct, and policies and procedures.
- Maintain productivity standards and fully utilize technology provided to document and enhance client care.
- Adhere to terms and conditions of the travel assignment contract.
- Be available and willing to travel to any location where Symbria provides contracted therapy services.
- Provide own transportation between patient visits and travel assignments.
- Perform any and all additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school for Physical Therapy.
- Valid registered license for Symbria's operating states, or the ability to obtain a license or compact license to support assignments in any designated state.
- If using a compact license, must have a full license in your state of residence.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, and basic math skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills with a strong focus on customer service.
- Proficient use of computers and Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Acute care, long-term care, and/or rehabilitation experience (preferred but not required).
Travel Assignment Information
- Assignments are based on 13-week internal contracts, with the option to extend or relocate to another Symbria location upon completion.
- Terms of the contract depend on company and staffing needs.
- Each assignment is eligible for a monthly living stipend based on location and travel.
- Continuous assignments are guaranteed for one year. After completing a year of travel assignments, you may have the opportunity for relocation assistance to secure a permanent placement or choose to continue as part of the internal travel team.
