Physical Therapist - Full-Time

About the role

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral and standards of treatment, performs objective assessments as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision of patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians, and general supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Location: Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO. Shift: Full‑time, 40 hours per week. $10,000 sign‑on bonus.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients.
• Provide direct supervision to patients.
• Provide indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians.
• Provide general supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts.
• Perform all duties in a manner consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and Service Standards.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's, Master of Science in Physical Therapy, or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
• Licensure: Current or temporary Physical Therapy license in the state of practice.
• Certifications: BLS certification (must be current before independent patient care).
• Preferred experience: Six months to one year of experience as a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist, preferably with adult and geriatric patients.

Physical requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
