Position Details

  • Part-time opportunity (4-8 hours per week)
  • 2026-2027 school year (August through May/June)
  • On-site services in Tulsa, OK
  • Serving students in PreK-12
  • Flexible, manageable caseload
  • Guaranteed compensation for scheduled hours, including documentation, planning, and administrative responsibilities

Role Responsibilities

As the school-based Physical Therapist, you will partner with educators, families, and related service providers. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing direct physical therapy services to students with a variety of physical and developmental needs
  • Performing evaluations using observational methods along with standardized and informal assessment tools
  • Developing therapy recommendations and contributing to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Monitoring student progress and modifying treatment plans based on functional outcomes
  • Providing consultation to teachers, families, and school teams regarding mobility, positioning, equipment, and classroom participation
  • Managing therapy documentation, case management responsibilities, and progress reporting
  • Supervising a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) while ensuring quality service delivery and compliance with state practice standards
  • Selecting and implementing therapeutic exercises, developmental interventions, and manual therapy techniques appropriate for each student's educational needs

Qualifications

Candidates should have:

  • Master's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited university
  • Current Physical Therapist license
  • Department of Education certification or credential, when required
  • APTA membership or certification preferred
  • Experience working with pediatric or school-age populations
  • Strong understanding of pediatric development, gross motor skills, functional mobility, and sensory-perceptual development
  • Experience identifying physical and developmental challenges that impact educational performance
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Proficiency with technology and electronic documentation
  • Fingerprint clearance and successful background screening
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, administrators, families, and multidisciplinary teams while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality

Physical Demands

The position requires active movement throughout school environments. Candidates should be comfortable standing, walking, bending, kneeling, sitting, lifting, reaching, crawling, and physically assisting students during therapy sessions and school activities while following district safety guidelines.

Compensation

  • $65-$75+ per hour, depending on experience
  • Estimated weekly earnings of $390-$450+
