About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist to join our team. In this role, you will evaluate, plan, and implement individualized treatment programs to improve patients’ mobility, alleviate pain, and enhance overall quality of life. You will work collaboratively with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal recovery outcomes in a supportive and dynamic environment committed to professional growth and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and interpret evaluations and test results; determine physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription.
  • Help patients accomplish treatment plans by administering manual exercises; instructing, encouraging, and assisting in physical activities, daily-living activities, and use of assistive/supportive devices (e.g., crutches, canes, prostheses).
  • Administer physical therapy treatments including massages, traction, physical agents, vasopneumatic compression, and cryotherapy.
  • Evaluate effects of treatments and fit of prosthetic/orthotic devices; recommend adjustments and modifications based on patient progress.
  • Complete discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare workers; contribute to patient care conferences.
  • Design home exercise programs and instruct patients, families, and caregivers to ensure continuation of therapeutic plans post-discharge.
  • Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and protect hospital operations by adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Ensure a safe and clean working environment by complying with infection-control protocols and regulations.
  • Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance; troubleshoot malfunctions and arrange repairs.
  • Stay current with professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops, publications, and professional networks.
  • Develop physical therapy staff by providing information and conducting in-service training programs.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements; advise management on necessary actions.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Licensed in the State of Tennessee.
  • Experience preferred but new graduates are welcome.
  • Ability and willingness to treat all patients with kindness and consideration.
  • Friendly personality with a desire to work with the public.
  • Ability to communicate patient problems effectively to medical staff.
  • Ability to relate to the public regardless of ethnic, religious, or economic status.
  • Knowledge of computer software and programs.
