Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other Health Center staff including doctors, NPs, PAs, nurses, dietitians, wellness coaches, and community providers to promote health and wellness.
- Evaluate, assess, and develop a treatment plan for each patient based on current physical therapy research, critical clinical reasoning, and patient values.
- Practice physical therapy at the highest skill level, promoting direct access to services at most Health Centers.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication by participating in Health Center meetings, patient care meetings, and through documentation and reporting to onsite and community referral sources.
- Participate in continuing competence activities including peer review, presentations, and optional grand rounds.
- Work closely with client stakeholders such as safety officers, ergonomists, human resources, and other vendors to promote employee safety.
- Develop and administer injury prevention and health promotion presentations, workshops, and other programming for onsite employees and other eligible populations.
- Teach proper body mechanics at employee workstations and develop and administer specific programs as needed.
- Effect positive behavior change in eligible populations beyond the clinical setting by providing real-time assistance and creating exercise classes.
Requirements
- All state licenses/certifications to practice.
- Current board certificate (if applicable).
- Degree from an accredited Physical/Occupational Therapy School.
- CPR (BLS for the Healthcare Provider/Professional Rescuer - must include front and back of card).
- At least three years' experience as a Physical Therapist in an outpatient physical therapy clinic or other ambulatory care clinic.
- Outpatient orthopedic experience is required.
Qualifications
- Total on-line courses will not be accepted for certification.
- Certification must include hands-on evaluation of skills by a trainer/instructor.
- Course must meet American Heart Association (AHA) standards but need not be an AHA certificate.
