About the role
Powerback Rehabilitation To You allows the Physical Therapist to evaluate and treat older adults in the most functional environment—their own home (private residence or independent-living room). The role provides outpatient rehabilitation services with a flexible schedule across various settings.
Responsibilities
- Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel in accordance with state licensure and professional standards.
- Adhere to department and patient treatment schedules, timely clinical and billing documentation, and work-related meetings.
- Attend and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences, and related meetings.
- Make referrals to other disciplines and agencies to address comprehensive patient needs.
- Consult with rehabilitation team members to select appropriate therapeutic regimens based on patient needs and capabilities.
- Adapt programs and care plans to individual patient needs.
- Promote a safe environment and enforce elimination of fire and safety hazards.
- Order, clean, maintain, and report equipment needs and repairs.
- Prioritize patient service in a caring, compassionate atmosphere that recognizes individual needs and rights.
- Screen, examine, and evaluate patients, including history, systems review, and application of tests and measures to establish diagnoses, impairments, and predicted improvement levels.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment goals and plans in collaboration with patients and caregivers, including documentation and record-keeping.
- Apply therapeutic techniques such as:
- Therapeutic exercise (aerobic capacity, balance, coordination, agility, body mechanics, flexibility, gait, neuromotor development, relaxation, strength, power, and endurance).
- Functional training.
- Manual therapy.
- Airway clearance techniques.
- Integumentary repair and protection.
- Use of electrotherapeutic, physical agent, and mechanical modalities.
- Provide health and wellness education, including chronic disease management and falls assessment/interventions.
- Design, fabricate, fit, and train patients in adaptive devices, including orthotics and prosthetics.
- Select activities suited to patients’ physical and mental capacities, intelligence, and interests.
- Instruct patients in mobility skills and evaluate progress, attitudes, and behavior related to rehabilitative potential.
- Perform routine reexaminations to modify or progress treatment plans.
- Incorporate health and wellness programming into treatment plans.
- Perform home and community mobility assessments and provide safety recommendations.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapy license in the state(s) of practice or proof of license eligibility.
- One of the following:
- Master’s degree in Physical Therapy; or
- Master’s degree in a Physical Therapy-related field plus a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy; or
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy plus 5 years of progressively responsible PT experience.
- Foreign-earned Physical Therapy degrees must be evaluated as equivalent to a U.S. degree in Physical Therapy.
- Valid driver’s license or reliable, independent transportation to and from patients’ residences.

Pay
Posted salary range: USD $79,000.00 – USD $110,000.00 per year, plus a USD $5,000.00 bonus.
