About the role
The Personnel Commission announces an OPEN and PROMOTIONAL recruitment. This recruitment will result in the establishment of one integrated eligibility list. Promotional candidates will have seniority points added to final passing scores (.25 of a point for every year of classified service up to a maximum of 5 points). This list will be used to fill current and future vacancies and will be active for one year or until cancelled. There is currently ONE positions open at Education Support Services. This is a 5 hour/day, 10 month position.
Responsibilities
Under the general direction of an assigned supervisor, develop, implement, oversee, and provide school-based physical therapy assessments to students under assessment for special education programming; determine level of function relative to the student’s age and educational placement in such areas as gross motor skill development and activities of daily living; consult with educational team members within a framework of special education policies and procedures; and provide students with physical therapy services and treatment which directly support student learning.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) school of physical therapy.
- Experience working with students with a variety of disabilities and in an education setting is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
- Valid California Physical Therapy license issued by the Physical Therapy Board of California.
- Valid certification with passage of the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE), as administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT).
- Valid California driver’s license.
- Possession of a current certificate in infant, child, and adult CPR and First Aid.
- Maintenance of licenses and certifications is a requirement of continued employment.
