Responsibilities
- Conducting physical examinations to assess patients' range of motion, strength, balance, and coordination
- Reviewing medical histories and imaging results
- Identifying and diagnosing underlying physical conditions
- Developing individualized treatment plans based on patients' specific needs
- Educating patients on proper exercise techniques and self-care strategies
- Tracking patients' progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed
- Monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists
- Providing documentation and maintaining patient records
- Adhering to ethical and legal standards
- Keeping updated on the latest research and advancements in physical therapy
Qualifications
- Have a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Degree in Arizona
- Must hold and maintain a current, unrestricted Physical Therapist license in the state where you are practicing
- Possess an active BLS/CPR Certification (AHA preferred)
- Have strong analytical, problem-solving, and logical thinking skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, compassion, and attentiveness are necessary for interacting with staff, patients, and other healthcare professionals
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and guidelines
- Able to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues
- Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information and integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- Pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening
- Physical Capabilities: Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
