Responsibilities
- Works directly with individuals to restore or improve physical abilities, promote behavioral changes, adapt surroundings, and/or teach new skills.
- Treats patients in various settings such as acute care, nursing homes, short-term rehabilitation, and outpatient clinics.
- Oversight of services provided by Physical Therapy Assistants and aides.
- Collaborates with a multi-disciplinary care team to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Reports to the Rehab Supervisor, Rehab Manager, and Director of Rehabilitation Services.
- Maintains licensure by obtaining required Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
- Performs comprehensive physical, psychosocial, and safety assessments.
- Develops and implements a plan of care to promote optimal function and safety.
- Ensures thorough documentation of all evaluations, treatments, and procedures.
- Evaluates and treats the assigned number of patients daily and determines the need for follow-up visits.
- Understands and carries out prescribed therapy services as directed by physicians and midlevel providers.
- Aware of and adheres to insurance regulations related to therapy services.
- Handles and operates therapy equipment safely, including patient handling equipment, exercise machines, and modalities.
- Coordinates patient care with other clinical team members to enhance overall patient care.
- Maintains and enhances professional knowledge and promotes physical therapy standards.
- Respects and interacts respectfully with all patients, families, visitors, and colleagues.
- Works collaboratively with other departments to support the department's goals and objectives.
Requirements
- 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited College or University, required.
- Master's Degree in DPT, preferred.
- Experience as a Physical Therapist prior to employment, preferred.
- New graduates will be considered.
- NYS license to practice PT, or a valid temporary permit as per NYSED licensing requirements, required.
- BLS CPR - within 6 months of date of hire, required.

Physical Requirements
- Light Work - Exerting up to 20 lbs of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
- Occasional balancing, climbing, crouching, repetitive motion, stooping.
- Frequent typing/clerical/dexterity, grasping, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, seeing/monitor/computer use, standing, talking, visual acuity (color, depth, perception), walking.
- Constant hearing, fit testing.
- Hazards - Occasional bodily fluids/bloodborne exposure.
- Working Conditions - Occasional extreme temperatures.
- Travel - The job may require travel from time-to-time, but not on a regular basis.

Pay Range
USD $41.39/Hr. - USD $62.71/Hr.
