Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Ridgefield, CT
About the role
RVNAhealth is seeking licensed Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) for Home Health and In-Home Outpatient (IHOP) settings. Opportunities are available in Ridgefield, Wilton, Weston, and Redding.
Responsibilities
- Work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide skilled, short-term therapy services to patients recovering from illness, injury, or hospitalization.
- Deliver therapeutic exercises and treatments based on the PT's plan of care.
- Provide hands-on care including gait training, strengthening, and mobility exercises.
- Absorb and assist patients with functional activities to improve independence and safety.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with Medicare Part A requirements.
- Travel locally to patient homes within assigned territory.
- Implement treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
- Support patients recovering from orthopedic procedures and chronic conditions.
- Provide progressive strengthening, balance training, and mobility interventions.
- Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate with supervising PT.
- Assist with adaptive equipment training and home exercise programs.
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with Medicare Part B guidelines.
- Deliver consistent, patient-centered care in a home-based setting.
Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current Connecticut PTA license in good standing.
- 2+ years of clinical experience preferred (home health and/or outpatient a plus).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license; ability to travel daily.
- Comfort with technology and electronic documentation.

Compensation
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $42.00 per hour and represents RVNAhealth's commitment to pay transparency. The final salary for this role will be determined based on careful consideration of a variety of factors, such as the candidate's exact location, experience, and expertise related to the qualifications.
