Responsibilities
- Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities.
- Sets up and operates therapeutic equipment and devices.
- Seeks consultation as necessary.
- Makes observations and records patient responses to the treatment plan.
- Communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.
- Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
- Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
- Aids in patient discharge planning.
- Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.
Requirements
- Active and valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in the state of Kansas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Qualifications
- Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant.
- Graduate of a physical therapy assistant program.
