About the role
A Physical Therapist Assistant, also known as PTA or LPTA, is a skilled licensed therapist who performs direct care under the clinical supervision of the Physical Therapist to maximize functional potential in all areas of a resident’s life.
Responsibilities
- Perform physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
- Assist in developing and implementing treatment plans based on patient needs
- Document patient progress and treatment outcomes accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive care
- Adhere to infection control protocols and safety guidelines
Requirements
- Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of employment
- Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passing scores on relevant exams (if required)
