Physical Therapist Assistant PTA

About the role

The NHC HomeCare Aiken is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide physical therapy services under the direction of a Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services as directed by the physical therapist and ordered by the physician according to policies and procedures and state/federal regulation.
• Affords assistance to the physical therapist during the evaluation of patient progress towards treatment goals.
• Monitors patient conditions, reactions, and responses during assigned duties and reports these observations to the therapist.
• Maintains daily records of treatments and documents progress notes as directed by the therapist.

Requirements

• Must have an Associate’s Degree from a recognized Physical Therapist Assistant Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association.
• Must be licensed in the state where the assistant will be practicing.
• Active membership in state and national Physical Therapy Associations is preferred.
