Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

About the role

Physical Therapist Assistants perform patient treatment through exercise, massage, gait and balance training, and other therapeutic interventions under the direction and supervision of Physical Therapists in our Rehabilitation Department.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient treatment through exercise, massage, gait and balance training, and other therapeutic interventions under the direction and supervision of Physical Therapists in our Rehabilitation Department.
• Qualified applicants must possess a minimum Associate Degree in Physical Therapy and hold a current, unencumbered Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of New York.
• Prior geriatric experience preferred.
• Successful candidates will perform job responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner, utilize proper body mechanics, techniques and safety while completing job duties and responsibilities, and possess the ability to communicate professionally, tactfully, and effectively with others, including residents experiencing various impairments (visual, speech, auditory, cognitive, physical, and emotional).

Requirements

• Minimum Associate Degree in Physical Therapy.
• Current, unencumbered Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of New York.

• Ability to communicate professionally, tactfully, and effectively with others, including residents experiencing various impairments (visual, speech, auditory, cognitive, physical, and emotional).

Skills

• Knowledge of therapeutic interventions.
