Physical Therapist Assistant

About the Role

Regency Hermiston is seeking a Staff Physical Therapist Assistant to join our dynamic in-house therapy team. This professional position focuses on direct patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, with additional administrative duties as assigned. You will work within a compassionate, resident-focused clinical team dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for seniors and their families.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care to instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait training, functional activities, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses to treatment and changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist, nurse, and/or physician.
• Instruct patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members on therapy techniques to assist in patient care.
• Visit patients according to the Plan of Treatment and complete daily notes for each visit.
• Participate in developing and updating the Plan of Treatment in collaboration with the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Adhere to Therapy Standards of Practice in all patient services.
• Report patient progress, complications, and responses to treatment to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Assist the Physical Therapist in performing procedures, tests, and complex treatments to ensure safe and effective patient evaluation and care.
• Follow all state-specific laws governing physical therapy in-home care and perform only procedures you are qualified and trained to perform.

Requirements

• Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited institution.
• Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the assigned state.
• Ability to take direction from registered therapists and other team members to promote patient treatment and safety.
• Ability to work independently with periodic (daily or less) support and direction.
