Physical Therapist Assistant

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) reports to Physical Therapist / Director of Rehabilitation. Provides therapy services under supervision of PT. Delivers treatment programs, monitors progress, and assists patients in achieving independence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out PT treatment plans for individuals and groups.
• Provide therapeutic exercises and activities as directed.
• Educate patients on mobility and assistive devices.
• Document treatment and patient response.
• Report changes to supervising PT.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree from accredited PTA program.
• Current state PTA license.
• Clinical experience preferred.

Skills

• Knowledge of therapy techniques and equipment.
• Ability to follow treatment directions.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, transfer, and move patients safely.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching.
• Work in long-term care and healthcare environments.
