Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Responsibilities

  • Work under the supervision of a physical therapist to help patients improve their mobility, function, and overall health
  • Restores patient’s function, alleviates pain, and prevents disabilities by completing the physical therapy’s treatment plan
  • Helps patient accomplish treatment plan by administering manual exercises, giving massages, and using equipment as necessary
  • Evaluates and records patient’s progress
  • Documents patient care services by charting records daily
  • Instruct patients in proper exercises and therapies
  • Educate patients about the recovery process and the challenges they may face
  • Administer post offer placement evaluations to determine if a person can perform the physical demands of a job
  • Work with the case manager as it relates to scheduling and document requirements
  • Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocol
  • Willing to work after hours to attend to occupational medicine injuries
  • Dispense rehabilitation supplies
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education And Experience Requirements

  • Physical Therapist Assistant Associate’s degree
  • Licensed as a physical therapist assistant
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum of three years of physical therapy experience preferred
