PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT

About the role

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is involved in comprehensive treatment of patients in accordance with state practice acts and rules. The PTA will organize and assist the physical therapists with programs to restore function and prevent disability following disease or injury.

Responsibilities

• Organize and assist physical therapists with treatment plans
• Assist in evaluating patients' functional status and developing treatment plans
• Implement therapeutic exercises and activities to improve patient function
• Document patient progress and communicate with other healthcare providers
• Collaborate with physical therapists to ensure continuity of care

Requirements

• Completed degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
• Licensed or license eligible in Iowa

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and ability to follow protocols

Skills

• Knowledge of physical therapy techniques and procedures
• Basic computer skills for documentation and record keeping

Pay

Commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Full-Time: 32-40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Typically 8am – 5pm, with some variation based on patient needs.
