Responsibilities
- Clinical Care Delivery Practices
- Maintains a patient treatment schedule consistent with departmental needs.
- Follows the Plan of Care established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Communicates regularly with the Physical Therapist regarding patient management, including additional needs, treatment modifications, and progress updates.
- Provides treatment to patients of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities without bias or prejudice.
- Demonstrates ethical practice that honors the cultural, ethnic, and religious beliefs of the patients served, in accordance with applicable laws.
- Clinical Documentation & Communication
- Prepares and submits all required documentation related to job responsibilities, including: Current daily treatment notes, Special reports as requested by the Manager.
- Ensures all patient documentation meets record standards and formatting requirements.
- Attends departmental and facility meetings as required.
- Maintains positive working relationships with other clinical departments and considers the impact of programming changes when appropriate.
- Collaborates with Wellness Center Fitness and Aquatics staff as part of integrated treatment outcomes.
- Affords assistance in planning future exercise-based services that meet community needs.
- Works closely with the manager to support program budget compliance.
- Participates in the facility’s risk-management and quality-improvement initiatives.
- Clinical Support Operations
- Assists with cleaning and maintaining therapy equipment.
- Helps maintain appropriate levels of patient care supplies.
- Supports room setup and performs laundry duties as needed.
- Promotes injury-prevention practices within the work environment.
- Professional Development
- Stays current with literature, techniques, and evidence-based practices.
- Attends continuing education courses, conventions, and professional meetings.
- Prepares and delivers presentations to patients, staff, or community groups as requested.
- Represents the department and promotes services to potential referral sources and community members.
Qualifications
- Current PTA licensure in the State of Idaho is required.
- Experience working with the public in a health-related capacity, preferably within a rehabilitation setting.
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Typing skills of at least 35 words per minute.
- Computer literacy, including basic word-processing skills.
- A current BLS certification is necessary, or applicants must be willing to obtain it within six (6) months of hire.
