Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists in providing direct patient care, according to the therapist’s treatment plan.
- Auxiliary tasks may include assisting patients with walking, transferring, and dressing.
- Conduct therapy practice within established standards of care.
- Communicate effectively with other professionals and support staff to achieve positive patient outcomes.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards as required.
- Deliver care at one or more assisted living locations, providing meaningful services to a diverse group of seniors.
- Provide education to patients and families on home exercise programs and strategies for maintaining functional independence and a better quality of life.
- Document patient care services in compliance with state and facility standards using EMR.
- Participate in ongoing professional development through educational programs, in-service meetings, and workshops.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Active Physical Therapist Assistant license.
