About the role
The Physical Therapist Assistant will provide direct patient care services under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist. Responsibilities include documenting patient treatments, changes in condition, and other pertinent information, as well as providing treatment and appropriate therapeutic techniques specific to the age and condition of each patient.
Responsibilities
- Administer treatment programs as established by and under the supervision of Physical Therapists.
- Provide instruction, intervention, motivation, and assistance to patients as they practice exercises or functional activities.
- Provide the highest quality treatment to patients in order to promote excellent outcomes.
- Assess patient condition using knowledge of basic biological and medical science.
- Propose treatment goals and objectives in collaboration with Physical Therapists.
- Communicate with other care providers as necessary and appropriate.
- Document treatment, changes in condition, and other pertinent information appropriately.
- Utilize equipment, supplies, resources, and time in an effective and efficient manner, ensuring budget compliance and cost effectiveness.
- Maintain licensure and stay abreast of current best practices, rules, regulations, and policies related to the field of physical therapy.
- Attend or conduct continuing education courses, seminars, or in-service activities.
- Provide services to agencies that the organization has a contractual agreement with under the Physical Therapist Assistant scope of service.
- Adequately perform other duties as deemed necessary for the continued viability and success of the department and organization.

Requirements
- Associate’s Degree (two-year college or technical school) in Physical Therapist Assistant (Required).
- 2 years of related experience preferred.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Wisconsin Physical Therapy Assistant License.
- Valid Driver’s License.
