Physical Therapist Assistant

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on physical therapy under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, following each patient's care plan
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, gait and transfer training, and the use of assistive devices such as wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetics
• Apply physical modalities including heat, cold, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and massage to relieve pain and restore function
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the Physical Therapist and care team
• Document care accurately and on time, and participate in team meetings and ongoing training
• Perform other duties as required for patient services

Requirements

• Associate's degree from an APTA-accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
• Active PTA license from the Physical Therapy Board of California
• Current CPR certification with AHAS
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Valid driver's license, reliable insured vehicle, and willingness to travel to patient homes
