Physical Therapist Aide

About the Role

Orthopaedic Rehab Specialists is seeking a full-time or part-time Therapy Aide for our Okemos location. This role facilitates patient care from check-in to treatment completion, helping create a clean, welcoming, and caring environment that ensures patient compliance and positions ORS as their lifelong physical therapy choice.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive team attitude and greet patients warmly, using names and making eye contact.
• Inquire about patients' well-being (e.g., pain levels) and report this to their physical therapist or physical therapist assistant.
• Uphold patient privacy and HIPAA guidelines both at work and outside of work.
• Monitor the lobby for incoming patients and remain visible and accessible to PTs, PTAs, and patients.
• Set up modalities and exercises, including electrical muscle stimulation, ultrasound, Biodex, paraffin, cryotherapy, traction, and iontophoresis.
• Change linens and clean tables in the gym and treatment booths.
• Check on patients who appear idle to ensure timely progression of treatments.
• Perform daily cleaning duties as assigned and assist with washing, drying, and folding linens.
• Complete opening/closing duties as outlined and assist with snow removal and salting when needed.
• Maintain a clean clinic appearance and ensure supplies are stocked.

Requirements

• Ability to listen and follow verbal directions.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with patients and coworkers.
