About the Role
Performs the essential duties and primary functions of a Rehab Tech, including transferring and transporting patients, completing infection control duties, and assisting or administering physical, occupational, or speech therapy treatments under the direct supervision of a PT, PTA, OT, COTA, and/or SLP.
Promotes teamwork with physicians and personnel of other departments, solves practical problems, and handles a variety of instructions in written and oral form.
Responsibilities
- Administer OT, PT, and ST modalities, procedures, and protocols according to department guidelines.
- Support and practice in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Assume responsibility for professional development.
- Participate in the ambulation of non-therapy patients as needed as part of the Ambulation Aide program.
- Communicate with professional disciplines regarding patient performance and with physicians and other healthcare workers.
Requirements
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Complete eight (8) hours of hospital-provided continuing education hours upon hire and annually for Total Joint and Spine. Education will focus on management/care of total hip, knee, and shoulder replacement as well as elective spine surgery patients.

- Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak, and hear.
- Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. Use of an assisted-lift device or assistance from another individual is required for lifts exceeding these limits.
