Nature and Scope
The incumbent must provide optimal patient care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in all therapy settings. This position conducts evaluations, develops appropriate plan of care, and provides rehabilitation services through time of discharge from the facility. This position is responsible for the direct clinical supervision of staff physical therapy assistants and rehab technicians.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop appropriate plan of care for pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in therapy settings across the health system, including their families/caregivers.
- Provide rehabilitation services, including comprehensive evaluation and treatment of gait and transfer limitations, orthotic/prosthetic training and comprehensive wound care.
- Directly supervise staff physical therapy assistants and rehab technicians.
- Interchangeably provide services among different therapy settings, such as acute care and post-acute facilities, based on census and business needs.
- Participate in program development and outcome measurements in the clinical setting.
Requirements
- Must have a working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Recent graduates who have applied for the registration examination may be considered for provisional appointment.
- Experience with physical disabilities, specialty certifications, or experience in one or more specialty areas is preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Physical Therapy license.
- Valid State of Nevada or California driver's license and ability to pass Renown Health's Department of Motor Vehicles Report criteria and current automobile insurance for department.
- BLS/CPR certification per AHA standards required.
- Possess the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
