Are you a dedicated Physical Therapist ready to make a difference in education? Here’s what you’ll need to join our team:- Education: Master's degree or higher from an accredited Physical Therapy program or equivalent.
- Licensure: Active License by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
- Certification: Current CPR certification.
- Language Proficiency: Bilingual skills preferred but not required.
Your Role:
As a school-based Physical Therapist, you’ll play a key role in helping students improve their mobility, access their educational environment, and achieve greater independence. Your responsibilities will include:- Evaluate Needs: Conduct comprehensive Physical Therapy evaluations using standardized tools, observations, and student-centered assessments to determine the need for specialized services in alignment with Texas education standards.
- Communicate Findings: Share evaluation results with parents, educators, and district personnel, offering clear, actionable recommendations that promote students’ access to education and functional independence.
- Develop Interventions: Collaborate with the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team to design evidence-based, individualized therapeutic interventions that address student-specific needs, support functional goals, and enhance participation in the educational environment.
- Provide Therapy: Deliver direct therapy services or supervise licensed Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) in implementing IEP goals.
- Monitor Progress: Collect, analyze, and document student progress data, maintaining detailed and accurate records that inform IEP reviews and ongoing service planning.
- Support Teams: Actively participate in ARD meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and multidisciplinary team discussions to advocate for students and contribute to the enhancement of special education programs.
