- Develop and review one-line diagrams, electrical arrangements, plan and section drawings, grounding layouts, conduit and cable routing drawings, and equipment layouts.
- Provide foundation loading information and other structural-related data required for substation equipment installations.
- Support both physical and electrical design activities for transmission and distribution substations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate design interfaces with civil, structural, protection and control, SCADA, and transmission line teams to ensure cohesive and integrated project designs.
- Assist in equipment selection and the development of technical specifications and material requisitions for substation components.
- Perform engineering calculations and studies, including grounding analysis, lightning protection studies, battery sizing calculations, AC/DC station service sizing, voltage drop analysis, equipment loading evaluations, bus and conductor sizing, equipment replacement assessments, and fault current and equipment duty evaluations.
- Develop project scopes, schedules, and engineering cost estimates, and contribute to planning and budgeting activities.
- Coordinate regularly with project managers, construction teams, and clients to support project execution and address technical issues.
- Participate in design review meetings and technical discussions, presenting engineering concepts and solutions clearly and professionally.
- Provide technical support, mentorship, and guidance to junior-level engineers and designers to promote knowledge sharing and team development.
