Physical Security Specialist - Mid
Serco is seeking a Physical Security Specialist - Mid to provide physical security support to a Department of Defense customer supporting the F-35 Joint Program Office mission. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a high-visibility defense program while supporting the protection of personnel, facilities, and sensitive information in a mission-focused environment.
About the role
You will work closely with government and contractor personnel to support security operations, maintain critical records and documentation, coordinate physical security actions, and help ensure compliance with established security requirements.
Responsibilities
- Support physical security activities, including facility security documentation, access coordination, records management, and action tracking.
- Assist with maintaining physical security files, trackers, reports, and related documentation.
- Coordinate with government and contractor personnel to support timely completion of physical security actions.
- Support meeting preparation, reporting, briefings, inspections, data calls, and suspense tracking.
- Review security-related documentation for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Help identify process improvements and support disciplined execution of recurring physical security requirements.
- Support physical security inspections, assessments, audits, and corrective action activities.
- Assist with access control processes, visitor management activities, and facility security requirements.
- Monitor recurring physical security requirements and ensure actions are completed within established timelines.
- Provide administrative and operational support for physical security programs protecting facilities, personnel, equipment, and sensitive information.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience supporting physical security, facility security, access control, inspections, or related Department of Defense security functions.
- Prior experience working in a secure facility.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Experience maintaining security records, reports, trackers, and supporting documentation.
- Knowledge of physical security principles, policies, procedures, and security compliance requirements.
- Strong customer, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Top Secret security clearance with Special Access Program (SAP) experience preferred.
- Current active Secret or Top-Secret security clearance.
- Prior experience working in a Security Countermeasures environment.
- Experience supporting the Department of Defense physical security programs.
- Experience supporting classified facilities and security compliance activities.
- Familiarity with physical security inspections, access control programs, and facility security requirements.
- Experience supporting large, complex government organizations and cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and support operational excellence.
Schedule
This position is on-site in Arlington, Virginia. Must be able to work Monday through Friday during normal business hours.
Pay
Salary range is provided as a general guideline and represents a good faith estimate across all experience levels. Actual base salary will be determined by factors including scope of the role, relevant experience, job-related knowledge, education and training, key skills, and geographic market considerations. For roles available in multiple states, the range may vary to reflect differences in local labor markets. In addition to base salary, eligible positions may include other forms of compensation such as annual bonuses or long-term incentive opportunities.
