Join our Commodity Logistics and Deal Management team as a Physical Oil Scheduler. Our Commodities and Global Markets business provides comprehensive solutions to clients with exposure to commodities, specializing in risk management, financing, physical execution, and logistics across a broad range of products. We operate globally, delivering tailored solutions to meet our clients’ unique needs. The Commodity Logistics and Deal Management team focuses on oil terminal inventory management and scheduling across the physical oil value chain, playing a critical role in ensuring efficient execution and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for managing logistics, operations, and scheduling activities across the deal portfolio, including waterborne and pipeline movements, as well as inventory management. You will also support key deliverables for a range of internal and external stakeholders. You will develop a strong understanding of deal structures within our trading platform (RightAngle), including its integration with broader Macquarie systems and processes.

The role involves close collaboration with Originators, commodity trading desks, and key support functions, including Tax, Market Services, and Legal. While Macquarie offers hybrid working arrangements for many roles, this position requires a full-time presence in the office, five days per week.

Requirements

Understanding of commodity scheduling and shipping risk; detail-orientated with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as an oil products commercial operator is desired. A strong understanding and experience with marine and pipeline scheduling is an asset. Ability to work with data to derive meaningful insights and support decision-making; ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively.

Demonstrate a developing understanding of AI Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) Possess a sense of urgency and accountability, with the ability to respond to tight deadline requirements. Encourages a culture of knowledge sharing and collaborative workflow. Desire to learn and have exposure to ancillary operational areas such as profit and loss reporting, position management, funding, compliance reporting, tax, and insurance. Previous exposure to these areas, or familiarity with our trading platform RightAngle, is a plus.
