About the role

A PhD, MD, or DO in Sciences or Medicine is required to be appointed at the rank of assistant professor in the tenure stream. Our research faculty is invested in conducting rehabilitation-focused research aimed at finding ways to improve the lives of people experiencing the impact of acute injuries and/or chronic conditions and disability. Current active focus areas include spinal cord injury, brain injury, musculoskeletal conditions, pediatric rehabilitation, neuropsychology, assistive technology, neural engineering, and regenerative rehabilitation research.

Responsibilities

• Develop an independent line of externally funded research that builds on or expands the department’s current rehabilitation research portfolio.
• Contribute to the development of the department’s research and educational programs.
• Contribute to resident/medical student mentoring.
• Contribute to other department service/committee work.

Requirements

• Doctoral-level degree
• Demonstrate organizational, communication, teaching, and leadership skills
• Evidence of scholarly productivity including teaching and academic service, publications in relevant peer-reviewed journals, and a history of successful funding acquisition
