About the role

The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician will join CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska, as part of a collaborative, multispecialty team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation services
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with functional impairments resulting from neurological, orthopedic, traumatic, and medically complex conditions
  • Serve patients throughout a regional referral network with a catchment area exceeding 300,000 residents
  • Manage patients within a 14-bed acute inpatient rehabilitation unit while collaborating with hospitalists who provide co-management support
  • Maintain an average inpatient census of 8 to 10 patients
  • Develop individualized rehabilitation treatment plans focused on maximizing patient independence and functional outcomes
  • Collaborate closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, nursing staff, case managers, and multidisciplinary care teams
  • Partner with specialists across Neurosurgery, Neurology, Orthopedic Surgery, Behavioral Health, Psychiatry, and other service lines to provide coordinated care
  • Participate in the ongoing growth and development of rehabilitation services throughout the region
  • Utilize EPIC as the integrated electronic medical record in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Practice within an environment that supports autonomy, flexibility, and professional growth
  • Contribute to a culture of clinical excellence, teamwork, and patient-centered care

Requirements

  • American Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
  • Completion of a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Program
  • Valid Nebraska medical license or eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Nebraska
  • Nebraska DEA registration or eligibility to obtain
