Position Overview

Serve as the attending physician for patients admitted to the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, serve as the IPR unit Medical Director leading quality, efficiency, and clinical performance improvement efforts, perform comprehensive rehabilitation evaluations and ongoing medical management, collaborate with physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, nursing, and case management teams, lead interdisciplinary team conferences, care planning, and transitions, ensure consistent compliance with CMS, accreditation, and documentation standards for inpatient rehab, coordinate care with referring physicians, hospitalists, and post-acute providers as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the attending physician for patients admitted to the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit
• Serve as the IPR unit Medical Director leading quality, efficiency, and clinical performance improvement efforts
• Perform comprehensive rehabilitation evaluations and ongoing medical management
• Collaborate with physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, nursing, and case management teams
• Lead interdisciplinary team conferences, care planning, and transitions
• Ensure consistent compliance with CMS, accreditation, and documentation standards for inpatient rehab
• Coordinate care with referring physicians, hospitalists, and post-acute providers as needed

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board Certified/Eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
• Eligible for or currently licensed in the state of Virginia
• Inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred
• Strong interdisciplinary collaboration and communication skills
