About the role

This part-time Physical Medicine and Rehab Physician position is based in Springfield, IL, with a national wound physician group. The role offers clinical satisfaction, autonomy, flexibility, and work-life balance with no nights, no call, and no weekend clinical responsibilities. Physicians provide bedside wound care in over 3,200 facilities across 28 states, with access to cutting-edge clinical technologies and the latest wound care modalities. Training includes physician-level wound management and a wound fellowship for clinical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver modern wound management at the bedside in post-acute care settings: Skilled Nursing Facilities and Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals.
• Conduct weekly wound rounds at each facility.
• Visit 2–3 facilities per day, treating approximately 20–30 patients per day.
• Perform clinical documentation at point of care, in real-time during clinical rounds, using a proprietary wound-specific EMR.

Requirements

• Active unrestricted medical license (MD/DO) in the state you wish to practice.
• Minimum commitment of 3 weekdays per week.

Schedule

• Part-time role: minimum of 3 days per week.
• Full-time role: 4–5 days per week (Monday–Friday, 7am–4pm).
• No call / no weekend clinical responsibilities.
• Mobile practice: physicians visit facilities within a 40–60 mile radius of practice location.

Training

• Paid training provided during onboarding.
• 6-month wound care fellowship included.

Compensation

• W2 full-time physicians earn on average $300,000 per year plus benefits.
