About the role

Riverview Gardens School District seeks a teacher to report directly to the building principal and supervise specific areas of classroom or program responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate daily and long-range plans for classroom or program activities.
• Show expertise in the curriculum and subject matter.
• Utilize effective teaching techniques, strategies, and skills during lessons.
• Evaluate student progress and manage student behavior.
• Create a classroom environment that fosters learning and supports diverse learning styles.
• Communicate student progress and needs to parents.
• Maintain positive relationships with colleagues and engage in collaborative efforts to promote educational excellence.
• Comply with school district policies, regulations, and procedures.
• Assume additional responsibilities outside the classroom.
• Demonstrate commitment to professional development.

Qualifications

• A minimum Bachelor’s degree.
• A teaching certificate meeting eligibility requirements for high school physical education.
• Successfully completed a background check by Human Resources.

Physical Demands

• Occasional or frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
• Sufficient vision to read printed material, see distant objects, and identify and distinguish objects.
• Sufficient hearing to hear conversations in person and on the telephone, and hear sounds clearly up to 20 feet.
• Ability to speak in an understandable voice with sufficient volume to be heard in normal conversation and on the telephone, and in addressing groups.
• Requires occasional or frequent use of hands and fingers, such as to operate a computer keyboard or phone.
• Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed.
