Physical Education Teacher (2026- 2027)

About the role

Dr John Ochsner Discovery Health Sciences Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated teacher certified in physical education/Health for PreK-8th grade students.

Responsibilities

• Teach physical education and health to PreK-8th grade students
• Work with diverse student populations
• Support one or more extracurricular activities, clubs, or athletic programs outside of the regular school day

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree teacher
• 2+ years experience with Preschool and/or Middle school students in a school setting preferred
• ESL or Special Ed. certification is an asset

Qualifications

• Ability and willingness to support one or more extracurricular activities, clubs, or athletic programs outside of the regular school day

Skills

• Experience working with diverse student populations

Benefits

• Trainings and workshops in the summer may be required
