About the role

Transform healthcare by serving as a physiatrist for IP consult and wound care. Your responsibilities include diagnosing and treating human disease, practicing evidence-based medicine, prescribing medically necessary medications and treatments, and participating in various committees.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat patients using medical equipment, instruments, and tests.
  • Order or perform tests, analyses, and imaging to assess patients' conditions.
  • Prescribe and administer drugs, treatments, and vaccinations.
  • Support and help ensure Joint Commission continuous readiness and compliance.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives through collaboration with hospital management, the medical staff, and employees.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and timely.
  • Report births, deaths, and contagious diseases as required.
  • Conduct, cooperate, support, and collaborate on basic and clinical research.
  • Supervise medical treatment of patients, including overseeing physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurse anesthetists, medical residents, medical students, and office staff.
  • Teach and mentor others.

Requirements

This position requires a strong background in medicine, including experience in diagnosing and treating human disease, practicing evidence-based medicine, and working in a collaborative environment. Specific requirements include:

  • A Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • A current license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Experience in diagnosing and treating patients, particularly in the areas of IP consult and wound care.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to evidence-based medicine.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of post-graduate training in a relevant field.
  • Experience in managing patient care plans and coordinating care with other healthcare professionals.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
