About the role
Spectrum News NECN is seeking a Photojournalist who is passionate about video storytelling and can work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship. We cover MA, NH, ME, VT, RI, and CT, using innovative journalistic approaches to engage and inform viewers.
Responsibilities
- Work with a team of talented journalists to shoot and edit material for newscasts
- Elevate stories by incorporating footage with fresh angles, lighting, and points of view
- Create compelling, timely, and accurate content for traditional and digital platforms
- Collaborate with a supportive team to tell character-driven stories
- Use the latest technology to share inspiring news across multiple platforms
Requirements
- Experience: Shooting and editing television news footage - 5+ years
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field, or comparable television work experience
- Technical Skills: Operation of ENG/SNG/Satellite vehicles and bonded cellular streaming
- Skills: Knowledge of how to clearly communicate solutions; ability to relate to populations and ages
- Abilities: Positive attitude and eagerness to solve problems, lifting and carrying up to 100 pounds, ability to distinguish colors and discern sounds
- Travel Ability: Must be open to travel to discover the important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the community
- Schedule: Ability to work different shifts, be flexible with schedule changes and able to cover stand-by responsibilities when assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- DSNG experience
- Working Conditions: Works inside in a climate-controlled environment and outside throughout the year and may be subjected to various weather conditions that could include extreme heat or cold conditions
- Drive company vehicle to and from different locations in a safe manner by obeying all traffic laws
Benefits
We offer a comprehensive pay and benefits package that rewards employees for their contributions to our success, supporting all aspects of their well-being at every stage of life. The base pay for this position generally is between $20.40 and $36.10. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
